Woman who died in Radnor crash from Downingtown, police say

RADNOR – Radnor police have finished their part of the investigation into the one-car crash that resulted in the death of a 44-year-old Chester County woman.

Police said the woman was driving south on Bryn Mawr Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when she drove off the road and the vehicle crashed into a tree. Debris from the car was scattered on the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although police have not determined how the woman lost control of her car, traffic investigators said speed was likely a factor due to the extensive damage to the car.

As of Thursday afternoon, police had only identified the driver as a 44-year-old woman from Downingtown.

Police are now waiting for a report from the medical examiner’s office.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Officer Ken Piree at 610-688-5600 ext. 162.
