Goose flies into motorcyclist’s head causing fatal crash in Bucks County

The driver veered into oncoming traffic after being hit police said.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP >> A motorcyclist was killed on Friday, April 8 just before 10 a.m. in a crash caused by a goose, police said.

The accident occurred at State and River roads in the Croydon section of the township when police said a goose flew out of the woods and directly into the side of a motorcyclist’s head.

Police said the impact sent the 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was sideswiped by a 2016 Chevy Spark and subsequently drove head-on into a 2022 Toyota Highlander.

The motorcycle driver, who police said was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bucks County Rescue Squad.

Bristol Township Police were assisted at the scene by Bristol Borough Police, the Bristol Township Fire Marshal, Bucks County Rescue Squad and the Croydon Fire Company.
