Reading parade kicks off World War II Weekend in Berks

In partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, Reading presented the 30th World War II Mid-Day Parade in the 500 block of Penn Street on Friday.

“Hello, Reading! I told you I’d be back!” exclaimed Brian Woodcock of Yorklyn, Del., portraying Gen. Douglas MacArthur, who has participated in each WWII Weekend for the past 30 years. The event featured a nostalgic journey with a parade of vintage vehicles, reenactors in period uniforms and music.

The event marked the official kickoff for the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum’s 33rd Annual World War II Weekend at Reading Regional Airport through June 9.
