Dolores Hoster Andrews OBITUARY

DOLORES HOSTER ANDREWS of Phoenixville, PA passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Philadelphia on May 27, 1932, she was the ninth of thirteen children to the late William Otto Hoster and Dolores (McAllen) Hoster. Dolores attended the Charles E. Ellis School for Girls and was a member of the class of 1950. She had many fond memories of attending this school, often telling her adventures in school and summer camp, where she gained the affectionate name of Bubbles due to the speed in which Dolores seemed to acquire poison ivy. After graduation, she first worked at Philadelphia National Bank from 1950 through 1957 where she met the husband of her children, Edgar E. Andrews, who passed away in 2006. While raising her children, Dolores worked part time at the Woman’s Exchange in Wayne, PA where she sold quiche, hors d’oeuvres, and tea sandwiches. Dolores then assisted with the founding of the Timothy School, which started in the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Education Center. Starting in the 1970s, Dolores was employed at the Devereux Day School as an Administrative Professional where she worked for 30 years until her retirement. Dolores had many passions in life. Her membership and participation at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church (BMPC) was an integral part of her life. She spent over 50 years as a member of the BMPC choir, where she made lifelong friends with many of her fellow choir members. Dolores was also passionate about traveling. She was fortunate enough to travel as a member of the church choir and with her family and friends around the United States and to countries around the world, including Austria, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Ireland, Great Britain, Russia, Brazil, Cuba, Switzerland, and others. She loved travel so much that after her retirement she continued working as a Travel Agent at Acorn Travel. An even greater passion of Dolores’ was throwing and attending parties where she was often the life of the party and could always be found to have a huge smile on her face. When not working, traveling, or attending parties, Dolores could be found gardening and spending time with her family. Dolores was a member of the Great Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and took pride in her patriotic roots. Dolores is survived by her four children: Constance A. Weiss, Edgar E. Andrews III (husband of Cyndi), Stacy L. Wright (wife of Jeff Masek), Dolores A.
