LOWER MERION — Lower Merion police are asking for help from the public as they investigate a shooting inside an American Legion Post in Ardmore on May 27.

Police were called to the Spencer Reid American Legion Post at Simpson and County Line Road in Ardmore on May 27 just before 7 p.m. on the report of a shooting.

Arriving officers reported finding a 26-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.

“The victim was targeted following an earlier disturbance at the Post. He was transported to a nearby hospital by private vehicle, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” police said in a press release.

According to police, when the shooter and an associate fled the scene, another man exited the building and began shooting at the fleeing car.

Investigators are working to identify the second shooter, and it is unknown if anyone in the car was hit.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Andrew McCutchen, 35, of Philadelphia, in connection with the original shooting inside the American Legion Post.

McCutchen was described by police as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 220 pounds, with an athletic build, a full black beard, and medium-length hair in short braids or twists.

McCutchen has distinctive teardrop tattoos under his right eye and a dime-sized dark mark under his left eye. He was last seen wearing prescription eyeglasses, a black soft-brimmed hat, a white t-shirt, black athletic shorts, white socks and sneakers.

Police are also looking for the gray 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS bearing Pennsylvania registration MMN-9443 that was involved in the incident.

Investigators say the vehicle has a distinctive bumper sticker to the right of the registration plate that reads “Rest Awhile Ride For Miles.” It has a tow hitch, Chevrolet-branded mud flaps, and a roof rack. The vehicle may have bullet holes or broken windows on the passenger side of the car.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Andrew McCutchen or the Chevrolet Trailblazer LS bearing PA MMN-9443 is asked to call Lower Merion Police at 610-649-1000 or 610-645-6228.
