SKIPPACK — A Skippack man is celebrating after winning $1,500 in the “Thanks Give-Away” MediaNews Group subscriber contest.
Vince Cioffo, 70, has been a subscriber of The Times Herald for over 40 years. He said he never expected to win the contest.
“I was surprised because I never win anything,” he said. “I’m not that lucky usually.”
Cioffo, who is retired, quickly shared the good news with his family and friends, who were equally surprised. He plans to spend his winnings on holiday gifts.
“It was a lucky thing for sure,” he said.
The contest was open to MediaNews Group subscribers aged 18 and older. To enter, subscribers submitted a form with their information, limited to one submission per day. The contest closed on Dec. 8 at midnight. The winner was randomly selected from all valid submissions.
