ARDMORE – Thanks to a donation from Heiler Painting, Narberth Ambulance recently purchased ten “First in Bags.” These bags, stocked with all the necessary equipment to save a life, are brought to every emergency medical scene. With a total of 11,800 calls in 2022, the bags are instrumental in supporting the prehospital medical care Narberth Ambulance provides.
So, what’s in the bag? “First in Bags” contain scopes, wraps, tapes, needles, insulin and other essential tools first responder need for response calls. Every Narberth Ambulance is stocked with a “First in Bag” and it’s seen in the hands of first responders at every call.
“The ‘First in Bags’ are critical when we respond to medical emergencies. The new bags have straps and are easier to carry than the previous tackle boxes we used, allowing for first responders to quickly grab a bag and go into an emergency situation,” said Deputy Chief, Pat Glynn.
The “First in Bags” have both Narberth Ambulance and Heiler Painting’s logo on them that can be removed and disinfected.
Heiler Painting, a local painting company in Philadelphia, offers cabinet refinishing, carpentry services, exterior and interior painting and free color consultations. The company owners demonstrate community outreach and team building by volunteering at soup kitchens, raising money for the homeless, and donating to local organizations such as PAWS, a no-kill animal shelter that helps families pay for vet bills. Narberth Ambulance is the first emergency service organization to be the recipient of a Heiler Painting donation.
“We want to give back in as many ways as we can, to the communities we work and serve in,” said Lara Lerner, Marketing Coordinator at Heiler Painting.“ After learning about the incredible, life-saving work of Narberth Ambulance, we were inspired to support the organization’s mission.”
Narberth Ambulance is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 that relies heavily on donations in order to operate. Narberth Ambulance provides pre-hospital medical services and medical transport to 150,000 citizens in Lower Merion Township, Narberth, West Conshohocken, Conshohocken, and Haverford.
“We are incredibly grateful for Heiler Painting’s contribution to Narberth Ambulance, which has enabled us to meet the needs of our community with these state-of-the-art bags,” said Chief Philanthropy Officer at Narberth Ambulance, Jeanine DiTomasso.
