CONSHOHOCKEN — Sean Cullen was officially inducted into the 2024 Grand Marshal for the Saint Patrick’s Parade in Conshohocken at the Spring Mill Ballroom in Conshohocken.

The Montgomery County Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee hosted this annual event on March 2nd with 200 people in attendance. It was a great night for everyone.

The night opened up with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard leading Sean Cullen and Irish Thunder Pipes and Drums into the ballroom for Sean’s induction. Kristen Murray sang the National Anthems of Ireland and America.  Frank Burton, 2023 Grand Marshal then had the honor of sashing Sean Cullen and turning over the walking stick.

Irish Thunder played a couple more tunes and then the Coyle School of Irish Dance performed for everyone.

This year’s ball was one of the best attended in a few years, showing how much Sean is respected and liked in the community for what he has given back to the community. Cullen and his wife Sharon founded the The Montgomery County Hero Fund in 2012 in response to the murder of Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox. The fund provides immediate and ongoing relief and services to any Law Enforcement Officer, Military Personnel, Firemen, Paramedics and/or first Responders or their loved ones as a result of tragedy on duty in or in service of the people of Montgomery County. This fund is run by all volunteers so 100 percent of the money raised goes to support those who are injured or give the ultimate sacrifice.  Cullen is also involved in other community organizations in helping others but the Hero Fund is his main one to help the families of  those who serve the community and country.

Cullen is a 1994 Temple University graduate and graduated from Widener School of Law in 1997. He was awarded a scholarship and received his post Doctoral Degree in Trial Advocacy in 2001 from Temple. He was awarded the District Attorney of Montgomery County’s Medal.

Cullen has also served as solicitor/counsel to the Montgomery County Chief’s of Police Association; former Sheriff of Montgomery County; County Detectives Association; Pennsylvania State Police; Elmwood Park Zoo; Fireman’s Relief Association in Norristown; the Holy Savior Club; Maenner-Chor Club in Norristown as well as various religious groups and police benevolent associations. In 2020 Sean and Sharon Cullen were recognized by the National Liberty Museum for Meritorious Community Service for their efforts with the Hero Fund.

One of the first orders of business for the Grand Marshal will be part of the judging at the Irish Coffee Contest that the parade committee host on March 14th. Cullen will be joined by past grand marshals in the judging that is based on the contestants’ presentation and taste of the coffee.

As Grand Marshal, Cullen will be leading the Saint Patrick’s Parade in Conshohocken on March 16th starting at 2 p.m. on Fayette Street.  The parade will feature seven bands, four Irish Dance Schools and floats representing various local organizations and groups.

The Montgomery County Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee is made up of mainly Ancient Order of Hibernian, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and Social Members of the AOH who are happy to organize this annual community event in Conshohocken. The parade committee thanks Conshohocken officials for all their support in this event. Also to all the sponsors a huge thank you for helping to finance this parade for the community, which is one of the biggest events in Montgomery County.  With the parade theme “Irish Hearts in America”  it will be a Great Day for the Irish on March 16th!
