ABINGTON — Abington Police arrested and charged a Philadelphia man with robbery after two bank robberies within five days.

He fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Following the robbery, the suspect solicited a ride from an uninvolved citizen, police said.
Several days later, on April 22, at 4:27 p.m., police responded to TD Bank at 710 Old York Road for the report of another robbery. Again, one male suspect entered the bank and presented a handwritten demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the bank on foot. Following the robbery, the suspect solicited a ride from an uninvolved citizen, police said.
Officers from Abington, Jenkintown, and Cheltenham townships searched the area for the suspect and located him a short distance from the bank, according to police. Police said all of the money taken during the robbery was recovered.
The suspect was identified as Dennis Wilson of Philadelphia. Evidence was collected, connecting Wilson to both robberies in Abington Township, police said. Wilson was charged in connection with the two robberies and is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $50,077 cash bail.
