NORRISTOWN — Author and Lower Merion graduate Nahjee Grant, through his organizations DayDream Kreative Studios and World Was Made For You, is proud to announce the donation of over 3,000 books to the Norristown School District. This contribution, with additional support from EGH Construction, the community, and BookSmiles, is part of an ongoing commitment to education and literacy, aiming to empower students and educators with a diverse range of reading materials.
The donation took place across six elementary schools, and were welcomed by district staff including Curriculum Supervisor Jennifer Lynch, Norristown Area Education Foundation Executive Director Monica Dantoni, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Yolanda Willaims, and Superindent of schools, Christopher Dormer. The books, suitable for multiple reading levels and interests, are intended to enrich the school libraries and classrooms across the district.
“We’re so thankful for the generous book donations that will greatly benefit our young scholars and help our amazing faculty and staff who are working hard to modernize their classroom libraries. This is a welcomed gift to NASD!” said Monica Dantoni, Executive Director Norristown Area Education Foundation.
The books were selected to cater to a wide array of subjects. This donation will significantly enhance the existing resources of the Norristown School District and help create an engaging learning environment for all students.
“Nahjee Grant commented, “It has been an honor and a privilege to support educational and literacy initiatives through our ongoing efforts at DayDream Kreative Studios and World Was Made For You. To date, we have donated over 500,000 books, established 20 free libraries, and provided more than 50,000 school supplies to underserved communities. This donation to the Norristown School District represents not just a continuation of our commitment but an expansion of our vision to empower every child with the tools they need for success. We believe that every small contribution can lead to big changes, and we are dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of these students.”
