The Conestoga High School Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is proud to announce that it has inducted thirty-nine new members. The Tri-M name is derived from Modern Music Masters and is an extension of the National Association for Music Educators.
Tri-M membership involves three main facets: performance, scholarship, and service. Each of the new inductees must audition in front of an audience of their peers to become a member and meet a GPA requirement. In order to retain membership, musicians must take part in different musical activities during the school year, most of them with some form of service. Students must also perform in one of the two required recitals to demonstrate continued commitment to their overall musicianship. Each type of activity is awarded a certain number of points and each student must accumulate 150 points. This is to insure the commitment and dedication of the Tri-M’s members. In addition, members must be a member of at least one curricular musical performance ensemble at Conestoga High School. Tri-M members are required to meet certain academic criteria and be of good character.
Conestoga’s chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is looking forward to a great year in music.
