For anybody who enjoys talking to animals while sipping on libations, the Philadelphia Zoo is going to be the place to be.
The zoo’s Summer Ale Festival is set for July 20. Guests can enjoy unlimited samples of more than 100 award-winning seasonal craft beers, seltzers and ciders, indulge in the region’s top food trucks while grooving to live music and visiting amazing animals.
“We hear year after year from our guests that this festival offers a great variety of beverages and gives them the chance to see our animals up close with fewer crowds,” said Vice President of Guest Experience Cara Treadway. “Not only is Philadelphia Zoo’s Summer Ale Festival an incredibly fun night, but more importantly, supports the animals in our care, our global conservation work, and our local community programs.”
The zoo will serve up an impressive crop of regional craft brews at this must-attend event for beer enthusiasts. Held every year in summer months, and after Philly Beer Week, Summer Ale Festival continues to quench the region’s unlimited thirst for top quality ales and ciders.
Guests will meet dozens of renowned brewers offering delicious award-winning, full-bodied beers and purchase fresh, local fare from the region’s hippest food trucks.

Tickets, which include zoo entry, are:
• Early Admission (6 to 10 p.m.; taps close at 9:30 p.m.): $75-$90; early bird pricing expiring soon.
• General Admission (7 to 10 p.m.; taps close at 9:30 p.m.): $65-$75; early bird pricing expiring soon.
• Non-drinker (admitted with their party at either 6 or 7 p.m.): $35
• Zoo Members enjoy a $10 discount on all tickets.
Meanwhile, new this year, the zoo will also be hosting the Philly Wine Fest: Spring Edition, May 18. More than two dozen wineries will be pouring a wide selection of specially curated seasonal reds, whites, rosés and more.
The event will take place on the Zoo’s Impala Lawn with live entertainment performing throughout the day on Impala Stage.
Ticket prices vary from $45 to $69, with early bird pricing expiring soon. This adults-only event is limited to those 21 or older with valid identification.
Tickets to the Philly Wine Fest also grant attendees complimentary access to visit the Philadelphia Zoo any time prior to their Philly Wine Fest session time. Tickets available at PhiladelphiaZoo.org and PhillyWineFest.com.
