On March 2, Man Up Philly held their 16th annual men’s Philly conference at Cardinal O’Hara in Springfield.
Man Up Philly is a men’s conference which gathers together annually to encourage, re-energize and inspire each other’s faith and spiritual life. In early March approximately 1,500-plus (their largest group ever) fathers, sons, brothers and friends came together to refocus their minds on their spiritual life..
The day began with the charismatic humorous Euse Mita, entrepreneur and real estate CEO as emcee, and included prayer, lunch, sacraments, fellowship, and inspirational speakers and song. The day’s inspirational speakers included Mike Schmidt, Phillies National Baseball and Hall of Famer; Danny Bader, best selling author and podcast contributor having been transformed by a near death experience; Deacon Nathan Gunn, Initiative coordinator for Young Life; Mark Hartfiel, vice president of Paradisus Dei; and Mark Forrest, acclaimed Irish tenor.
Over the years the line up of the other inspirational speakers at the conference have included athletes Mike Piazza, Rich Gannon, Phil Martelli, Fran Dunphy, and Ron Jaworski, inspirational speaker Immaculee Ilibagiza (the Rwandan genocide survivor), as well as notable Hall of Fame Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey to name a few.
There was all star inspiration for sure and at the end of the day it was safe to say that the Man Up Philly conference rejuvenated, renewed and inspired the attendees and working towards something good for their families, friends and community was on their mind.
